Le Bourgis

The Estate

A 17th-century manor

Simple and refined.

Le Bourgis is a haven of peace in the heart of the Perche. Its dovecote, built in 1602, gives it a unique charm. Open all year round, amid the pastures, in preserved quiet.

We occupy the outbuildings of the manor once said to have been home to Marshal de Catinat — a 300 m² longère set between organic orchards and pastures where cows graze. Right in the heart of nature.

The house and garden offer a space for rest and tranquillity. With a real passion for things done well, we love cooking with fresh, organic produce. A private entrance gives you — at the time that suits you — perfectly independent access to the rooms, while still feeling at home.
And now a renovated barn offers a temperature-controlled 50m² space with mezzanine and ground-floor sleeping.
This space can also be rented by the day.

Just 1 km from the village, the forests are close by: ideal for hiking and cycling routes, with bikes waiting for you on site. Our wellbeing offerings are available à la carte.

The Garden

The 6,000 m² English-style garden blends wild and cultivated plants: a raised organic vegetable patch, a greenhouse, a pond visited by wild ducks… Blooms unfold throughout the year. Herbs, apple, pear and quince trees, blackcurrants, raspberries, kiwi and rhubarb offer up their harvests season after season.

The garden was designed and laid out by Pierric Léchelon (together with us), and is maintained by David Le Duff, who has preserved and enhanced its structured yet wild character — a garden that draws compliments from many visitors.

The house is home to two cats — pets are not allowed in the rooms.

Nicolas and Jean-Philippe, owners of Le Bourgis

The owners

Who we are

Jean-Philippe and Nicolas welcome you into their home at Le Bourgis. Both are active in the performing arts world: one is a set and lighting designer, the other a director and administrator, elected to the local council and president of La Chapelle-Montligeon's tourist office.

Nicolas will be there to welcome you and will be in the kitchen when he isn't at the theatre. He can also offer you energy healing sessions. Jean-Philippe, always the first up, will prepare your breakfast.

Here, everything is homemade: preserves, jams… even this website. This isn't a hotel — there are a few imperfections — but we put our whole heart into giving you the warmest welcome.

For those who love quiet, far from light pollution: you can watch the sky and stars from the estate.
